Seniors

The Wests Senior Women’s and Men’s teams have dominated the Basketball ACT competition for many years. Whilst we aren’t the largest Club, Wests is always well represented across the divisions with many of our senior players developed throughout Wests Junior competitions.

2023 WINTER SEASON OPEN:

Senior trials will be held February 2023. Players must attend trials for skill and ability to be assessed and ensure appropriate placement in teams. Please register your details to attend the trials – this assists the Club with follow up and contacting you to offer a position to your young player. More information can be found on the Wests Facebook site and the link above.

For more information please click the link below.

TRAINING:

Teams train once a week at various locations across the Belconnen region including: Kingsford Smith School, AIS Bruce, Canberra High School, Belconnen Basketball Stadium.

Training and game schedules will be released closer to round one. We will not know details until teams are full, nominated and BACT provide the schedule. You will be contacted by the Club or the team coach when we know the finalised details.

COACHING:

Our Senior team coaches and managers are all volunteers who must hold a valid Working with Vulnerable People Card. The safety and welfare of our players is important to us as we assist our young players to achieve and develop their skills and confidence.

UNIFORMS:

Senior Premier League uniforms will be provided to players. All other divisions may play in pocket-less black basketball shorts. Playing singlets are provided each season but must be returned to the coach or manager at the last game of the season. Fees may be incurred if players fail to return their singlets.
